As most of you know, I am a part of an initiative of BNT News International, a global beauty/fashion/lifestyle and entertainment source based in Seoul, South Korea. I am helping BNT to promote a selection of new and exciting Korean beauty products to Indian audience. Most of these products may be new to you and has something uniquw in it. Every single product is a new experience for me. I have reviewed a foam cleanser with 70% maple water earlier in May Coop Cleansing Mousse review and an amazing matte gel that transforms to water droplets in Messaline Ultra hydration cream review. I have also told you how the amazing Lip tint by Forencos has changed my definition of staying power for lipsticks. Today I shall be reviewing a hair product. Probably one with the longest name I have ever used. Ja Dam Hwa Scalp & Hair Cleansing Treatment by Daeng Gi Meo Ri. (Phew!!)
To start off, let me tell you how I loved the Korean packaging yet again. Simple, class and very posh! My washroom cabinet looks glammed up! It comes in a 250ml tube package that allows full usage of the product. The cover is sealed- preventing contamination. The entire packaging is written in Korean and I had to go through a lot of internet research to find out how it works. The product claims to be a shampoo that conditions and is also a treatment. Now, I was confused. Do I use it as a shampoo, a conditioner or a treatment after my shampoo-conditioning?
The product is a oriental medicine inspired shampoo that contains ingredients like white ginseng, ginger and patented (crinum lily extracts) formula providing tired scalp and hair with energy, strength, and beauty. . Silk extracts from golden cocoons and proteins protect the hair while reinforcing firmness and glow. It also contains a real herb complex made of green tea, camomile, sage, Calendula and Henna, to moisturize deeply. The product claims to wash away wastes gently leaving a light floral smell.
What I felt using it:
In my first wash, I used it without a conditioner. The smell was pleasant and the shampoo was a deep maroon color. They claim it to be a wild flower fragrance. Light musky. It lathers up fairly good, just like any other normal shampoo. I found the product to give me tangles in my hair. My hair was rough and was tangling. I did not want to give it a second try. Then I thought maybe I got it all wrong and I should be using it after my normal shampoo, as a treatment. On my second was, I used it along with my normal shampoo and conditioner. My hair was very manageable and soft. It felt moisturized and smooth. So, maybe that was the way it was supposed to be used? I’m still not sure. for now, this method works for me.
In case you want to give it a try, purchase it here for $15.90 + taxes
- Lovely smell that does not irritate me
- Sealed packaging to prevent contamination is a good initiative
- Shampoo and a hair treatment in one. Multi- tasking products are always a good thing
- Very drying when used by itself. Recommend to use it with a deep conditioner.
- May not bother purchasing it as it does not perform such a great job.
